On the 62nd anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, a group of prominent Nigerian women from all walks of life reflected on their country’s journey through the past six decades, and expressed their hopes and expectations for the future.
Among these women is Amujae Leader Dr. Adaeze Oreh who wrote a message of hope and a heartfelt tribute to the people of Nigeria in a recent article in Business Day.
Calling for a rekindling of the joy of independence and “the fire of hope it lit in our communities,” Dr. Oreh highlighted the importance of implementing healthcare and development policies that serve the interests of the Nigerian people and communities.
“Only by investing in the health and development of our people can we as a nation attain our fullest potential, our power, and indeed our greatness.”
Dr. Oreh stressed the need for Nigeria to drive policies that prioritize access to quality healthcare, education, livelihoods, and a clean environment. She also underscored the importance of innovation and investments in enabling long-term sustainable growth.
