Ahead of the launch of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development this month, FrontPage Africa interviewed former president Sirleaf about her ambitious plans and vision for the Center:
“The key objective of the Center is to provide opportunities for women in leadership; to change their positions and get the highest leadership positions in service. We are doing this through a combination of programming, research, advocacy, and exhibition.”
Sirleaf also described the objective of the Center’s flagship program, the Amujae Initiative, saying:
“What we now need are enough number of women ready to be able to take public positions at all levels in society. Amujae is going to help them to do that.”
