Victoria Mwanziva

District Comissioner, The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania
TANZANIA

Victoria Mwanziva is a Tanzanian government official serving as the District Commissioner for Lindi District in the Lindi Region of the United Republic of Tanzania. She was appointed by the President of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to head governance and administrative operations in Lindi District.

D.C. Victoria holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Harbin Institute of Technology in Harbin, China, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration, with a major in International Relations, from the University of Dar es Salaam. She has participated in an array of trainings, seminars, and conferences across Tanzania, Africa, and beyond – including the YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship, the SWY Japan Youth Leadership Training, the MINDS Youth Leadership Program, and the Nasser Fellowship in Egypt. These programs have shaped her into the remarkable leader she is today.

D.C. Victoria brings a strong political background to her role, having served as the National Secretary for Publicity, Mobilization, and Pioneers at UVCCM – the Youth League of Tanzania’s governing party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) – before transitioning into public service.

In her current role, she serves her community through a wide range of developmental activities. These include managing all governmental affairs in Lindi District, overseeing state institutions, parastatal bodies, and other organizations, and coordinating infrastructure development across central and local government projects. Her work also encompasses community development, engagement, and mobilization – key pillars of grassroots and rural service delivery.

This work reflects her deepest passion: serving the people of Tanzania and ensuring that community voices are heard through meaningful participation in politics, policy formulation, and implementation. Central to her agenda is advancing women’s participation in leadership – bridging the gap to ensure that more women claim their place in governance and development across Tanzania.
