Kou Moore is the Executive Assistant (EA) to the EJS Center Executive Director (ED) & Liaison to the EJS Center Board of Directors. Ms. Moore provides the ED and the Board administrative and complex secretarial support. She is an experienced project manager with over 20 years of international experience and a proud graduate of Morgan State University. She began her career at the USA National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, carrying out cutting-edge research on the genetics of multiple types of cancers. After receiving her degree in Public Health, she worked for a rare hereditary disease diagnostics firm GeneDx for seven years and was promoted from Analyst to Senior Analyst and finally Communications Manager. She left GeneDx to start and grow Peppersoup Media – a marketing communications firm with a focus on social enterprises and nonprofits.
Thereafter, she was recruited to serve as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Health of Liberia, where she worked on project management and delivery. After six months, she was promoted to the created role of Director of Strategic Alignment, responsible for managing donor partners and national projects and assessments across all Department of Administration units. Most recently, she worked for GIZ ECOWAS’s Regional Pandemic Prevention Program (RPPP) as the Liberia Technical Advisor responsible for the program’s support to Liberia’s Ministry of Health and National Public Health Institute for outbreak prevention, training, and response, including Ebola, Lassa, and COVID-19 support.
