In video remarks prepared for the launch of the EJS Center on International Women’s Day, Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde shared her support for the Center’s work to advance women’s public leadership. She also outlined her commitment to increasing the number of women in leadership across the continent.

“We have to look at the forest of women behind us. We must not be the trees in the forest that take all of the sunlight, we have to share the sunlight with the majority of our sisters.”
